What is a Doula?

Birth and Postpartum doulas help support new families through the life changing experience of having a baby. Whether it's a family's first baby or their fifth, a doula can help make the birth and postpartum experience better.

A Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.

Danina Avery, CD, DBR (DTI)

Danina Avery, CD, CBE (DTI), is one of South Florida's amazing birth and postpartum doulas as well as a lactation counselor and childbirth educator servicing Broward and Miami, FL.

Her biggest pursuit as a doula is to educate birthing families and also instill the confidence in them to be able to make decisions that fit best with their lifestyle. She decided to become a doula after her own birth and postpartum doula created such a difference in her own process into motherhood, along with her husband’s. Serving at all types of births– home, birthing center, and hospitals is extremely enjoyable to her. They are all unique not only to their location but also to their experience. She's always endeavoring in continuing education, as birth evidence changes and evolves quite often. Her job as a birth worker allows her to provide the support parents and babies need in order to ease the transition into the wonderful life of parenthood.
